HISTORY OF OUTREACH PROGRAM CANADA
Started As School Supplies Outreach Program, A Visionary Woman Who Grow Up In Poor Living Condition Started This Program.
The Founder/CEO Evelyn Serbout, visited the Philippines along with her sisters and daughter, Fatima Zahra, in September of 2015 after living in Canada for 18 years. Her parents were not able to travel back to their homeland before passing. That's when Evelyn brought the school supplies idea as a way of paying tribute to their legacy....and what better place to do it but at the same village where they were born. As Evelyn stood in front of 655 elementary school children, their teachers and parents at San Isidro Elementary School, Evelyn felt the indescribable, mysterious warm spirit that covered her entire body. She felt like she was floating in the air while a whisper in her ears said, "This is it!". In Evelyn's mind, she was saying, "I can do this for the rest of my life!". Evelyn planned to do it again the following year, unfortunately, a health scare threatened her life. Evelyn was diagnosed with brain aneurysm and underwent a major brain surgery in 2016. Evelyn remembered the morning of her surgery as she was being taken to the operating room, she uttered words and solemn prayers. Whatever those were, she is now living it. After surviving brain aneurysm, Evelyn continued the School Supplies Outreach Program in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
Now, a registered non-profit organization, Outreach Program Canada (OPC) is not only thriving and fully recognized, but it expanded its school supplies program to include but not limited to, meal, clothing, small mobility equipment and other campaigns supporting local communities.
